Computer Classes are forming

Several students have asked for Computer Classes. We have a tutor who is interested in teaching a computer class.

Please ask your students if :

-They are interested in taking a computer class
-Would they like computer basics or more specific programs such as Word or Excel?
-Times and days they would be available

Let us know, so we can start forming the classes.

Happy Holidays

To all our wonderful tutors,

Thank you for another great year. Your enthusiasm, motivation, kindness and support have helped dozens of people in our community. Each one of you makes a huge difference in someone's life everyday. The world is better a place with all of you in it.

We wish all of you a happy holiday and a peaceful New Year.

Weekly Lesson Plans

Congratulations on creating this blog. I think this is a great way to communicate! I'd really like to hear about how other tutors plan their weekly sessions. My student is a very directed learner and comes each week with work she needs help with. However, I'd like to create more structure in our sessions to provide a learning path. I'm interested in hearing how other tutors do this. Thanks!

Welcome to the new Literacy blog

To all our tutors,

We are very excited to introduce our literacy blog. Our goal is to provide an online networking tool to connect with fellow tutors, to share tutoring successes, lesson plans and stories and ask for help or advice.

In addition we will be listing upcoming events, pictures and program news.

This is a new venture for us. We will be monitoring the site on a weekly basis, adding comments and new information. Please use discretion when posting and do NOT include sensitive student information. Keep in mind that this is a confidential program.

If you have any suggestions for us to improve the blog, contact us at the office. We hope you will help us shape this blog into a useful tool.

Enjoy!
Smadar, Karen and Sandy.
